The state of Virginia is trying to recruit criminals to vote for Obama?

I just heard that on TV. Democrats are trying to change the rules so that criminals can vote. They know that ALL criminals will vote Obama because he is weaker on crime than anyone ever. WE MUST STOP THIS TRAVESTY! Write to your elected officials in protest!

Why shouldn't a "criminal" get to vote? It doesn't hurt anyone for them to vote. They should get their vote counted as any other American does. Maybe they disagree with the laws that gave them a criminal record. If the majority of the people agree with them, shouldn't the laws get changed. For instance, maybe they are a criminal for possessing an ounce of marijuana. Does that make them a bad person? Not really. Shouldn't they get the oppurtunity to vote for someone who will reform marijuana laws? Try to walk in their shoes for just a moment. What if there was one crazy year when the people elected passed a law that made practicing any religion illegal. Then for the following few years, the majority of Americans became felons. In turn, they lost their right to vote. How would they be able to right the unjust? How could they get their religious freedoms back without the right to vote? They couldn't, hence the importance of peoples right to vote regardless if you agree with their lifestyle or not. What is the worst that could happen if felons got the right to vote back?

You seem to be a bit ignorant on the issue. "Criminal" is a broad term, and felons are the only ones not permitted to vote. And let's be honest, if there was a push to reinstate felons' voting rights and the thought was that they would vote Republican, you wouldn't be so pissed about it. You're just mad because they probably wouldn't vote for your guy.
Jim Webb has purpose to give all non violent felons the right to vote and is preparing to go around to regristering them (as most are blacks) in order to swing the state of Virginia for obama...Webb is trying for the VP job.

Yep, they are! They want convicts to have the right to vote.Where did I hear that, if you are convicted of a felony, you lose your right to vote????? Wasn't that made a law????
I think the DNC or the DEM"S or whatever are criminal themselves power hungry GEEKS and they would murder to get the White House, they are so desperate! And that is what I have heard in other States as well, they want the black criminals to vote, they will make an exception.....Obama style!

What is McCain answer to the failed Bush policies and why he wants to continue them? President Bush stole the election in 2000. I think there going to be some funny business in 2008. If always thought if you have a felony or been in prison, you can't vote. If they are overturning that, then it's their right to vote. Don't worry. Actually E. V. E. it was proven that President Bush won by a recount of the popular votes. He didn't "steal" anything. That allegation was pure Democratic propaganda. Facts CAN be checked you know.

I agree that Federal Law should not be changed allowing inmates to vote. It is my understanding that some states, including I believe Virginia, do allow inmates to vote in State/Local elections. I seriously doubt that inmates will be allowed to vote in a Federal Election. Based upon the fact that Blacks comprise a large number of many prison populations, it is no wonder that Obama would support this measure.
I say. Let give them their rights back. I think they revoke their rights because most of them were black anayway. ***
