Why does America spend so much money on crime when their all criminals?

They close their Hospitals, but open new prisons. After you count all the Americans that have been to jail, are in jail and will go to jail. Where are the Non criminals at? The largest society of prisoners is Americans. There are probably planning to spend their stimulus on more prisons. How nice.

2. I've never been to jail. I am not in jail, nor do I ever plan on going to jail. I am sitting in front of my computer answering your question. :)

4. See, hospitals are closing because criminals, plus illegals, are hording into ERs at an alarming rate. ERs cannot turn down anyone, even if it's for a common cold. I have insurance and I don't go to the ER or my doctor for such. I reserve those visits for kidney infection, swollen lymph nodes, and real problems. But since ERs are a major part of a majority's "free" healthcare plans, the hospitals get shut down, then re-opened in a nicer neighborhood without an ER. Shame, really. Community health centers are the way to go. They could provide counseling for people who tend to be criminals and have to go to jail.

9. Wow, an idiotic statement if I ever heard one. I don't know who you hang out with, but I have never been in jail and have no plans to go. As far as I know, none of my friends or family plan to take up residence there either. Also, I don't know where you live, but a huge new hospital recently opened in my city and the others have undergone expansion.
10. the only reason why hospitals are closing is because illegals flood them who can't even speak english, and it's all at taxpayer expense. I am so sick and tired of these idiots thinking america is so rich and they can ride the back of hard working middle class. And since the taxes are not going up, but there are more and more illegals, hospitals just go bankrupt. Yes, yes, when you come in with your boo boo it is free for you but it doesn't mean no one else pays for it!!!!! P.S. They just said on TV the other day medical sector just added 10% of new jobs, one of the few job markets that grow right now.
11. We don't spend money on crime, only on arresting criminals. When the laws of a country are so conservative, a lot of people go to jail. Eventually the common folk get tired of paying for the high ideals of others and say enough is enough! I don't know where you got your info, but most Americans wont close a hospital just to open a prison.

14. beauuuuuuuutiful question!!!!!! im a criminal justice major and for some reason i never understood how we spend sooooooooooo much money on criminals, treating them, feeding them, processing them, all that has got to stop. do you believe that the average cost to keep a prisoner in prison is about $35000 a year!!! that's more then i make and i am a hardworking citizen that attends college that doesn't commit crimes its said that a person who killed another is sitting up in a prison getting FREE FOOD FREE HEALTH CARE FREE CLOTHING FREE EVERYTHING and i work my as* off and i dont get FREE ANYTHING what is this world coming too?!?!?!
15. Based on your comment, I suppose you would like less prisons and more hospitals. Okay, so what do we do with criminals? We don't punish them so we don't arrest them. So they feel even more empowered and they commit even more crime, maybe even sending people to the hospital, which we now have plenty. I think you need to look at the US and compare it to the world. Most countries will have much stricter penalties for offenses than the US. The US is very liberal when it comes to punishment and would rather give a person incaceration over a loss of a finger or hand. Please have some perspective.
16. Do me a favor and stay in whatever toilet country you live in. I don't know of any hospitals that have closed. I also believe that building prisons is a good thing, we need to put all the criminals somewhere. It probably wouldn't be so bad if all these foreigners weren't coming to our country illegally and breaking laws. I can really blame them though since we are the greatest nation on earth.
