What are some good crime fiction novels or films that deal with gender issues or misogyny/feminism?
All I've managed to find is Silence of the Lambs. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Also, the books/films don't have to be contemporary and can be in an era where the female role in the crime fiction text was subservient and this coincided with values within society when it was composed.

- The Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum books kind of address some women issues, and the Patricia Cornwell books portray the main character as overcoming walls as a female quite frequently.
- You gotta read the World According to Garp. Don't watch the movie, read the book.
- consider blade runner...
