Suggestions for thematic CRIME NOVELS, anyone?
Hey all, I'm really into crime stories now, they're so awesome. Just looking for suggestions for "thematic" crime novels, since these are the ones I really enjoy. For example, BROTHER GRIMM by Craig Russell is about a killer who bases his kills on fairy tales, eg posing his vics into Jack and Jill, Little red riding hood and so on. I really liked this novel, and so did my younger sister. I'm currently reading THE ROSARY GIRLS by Richard Montanari. So do you know any 'thematic' crime novels that you think I might enjoy, based on the examples above? Thanks in advanced, Scorepyon

- Ooh Brother Grimm sounds really good. I am going to have to check that out. Hmmm. I don't know any that fits our area of interest, but I did love the works of Margaret Truman. She wrote a series of murder mysteries set in various locations in and around Washington DC.
- Try the Val McDermid 'Wire in the Blood' series. It starts with 'The Mermaid Singing' then 'Wire in the Blood' and then 'The Last Temptation'. I believe she has released a further two books under this series but I don't know what they are titled. I don't know if they fulfil your thematic criteria, but they are based on a criminal pyschologist called Dr. Tony Hill. The books were also the basis for a fantastic BBC series of the same name. I do warn that they are quite graphically violent, but oh what a read. I love crime novels also, and these ones are well worth it. And to be old-school...have you read Sherlock Holmes?
- Hi! That's not my kind of books but try some by Agatha Christie: The Mysterious Affair at Styles, The Mystery of the Blue Train, Murder on the Orient Express. Or: The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Valley of Fear, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Valley of FearThe Coming of the Fairies, The Land of Mist by Sir Arthur Conan. Doyle. Hope i helped! =)
- Blood Memory I forgot the author but I really enjoyed the book alot.
- Try anything written by Elmore Leonard
- John Grisham- (98% of his books) Harlan Corban Jeffrey Deaver Dean Koontz (some of his) you just have to go through them, and you can get a lot of amazing crime books, especially from Grisham's Alex Cross books! <3
